The Deep Well ThreadChasers are a perfect companion to any Irwin Hanson Tap and Die set. ThreadChasers are made to clean and repair exposed studs and bolts, and our Irwin Hanson Taps and Dies are made to cut new threads and repair threads when necessary. The back end of the ThreadChaser is left open so that, if necessary, you can thread it backwards on a stud and use the interior of the ThreadChaser as a guide to align the first couple threads. Then you can flip the ThreadChaser around the right way and clean the threads the rest of the way down the fastener or stud. Using a socket allows you to repair studs in circular arrangements which cannot be done with a die stock.
